Much relieve to finally have a working membership here. Here is a brief intro. I grew up in Australia, as a kid, cruising South Australian waters and racing on Sydney Harbor. I trained as a sculptor - I’m a maker with a wide range of building skills. I own (and constantly work on) a custom 36’ strip plank mahoghany sloop, launched ‘69, moored in Terminal Island, Los Angeles. (As an elderly relative wisely remarked ‘there’s nothing quite like owning a wooden boat’). I’m interested in unusual boat designs, and traditional (non-European) craft.  I’ve designed a fleet of small autonomous robotic sailboats for oceanographic work. I’m a fan of the Protei project (automonous oil-slick cleanup sailboats). Currently developing a range of proa/multihull designs which will culminate in my actually building a midsize one - all going well. I’m looking forward to interacting with all the knowledgeable people here. So expect lots of questions 😊
