the angle of attack on the vector fin ......
is the difference between a good days sailing
and the end of it .....

and since .... your proa will squat at high speed .....
your vector fin will then becoming a negative aoa

and will then be coming out !

but if ..... you are using a wind ward sail >
whose sheet will pull on the float > stern >
then you will have a positive aoa

because the pull will twist the bridge deck some
and every thing will be fine !

and .... if we can acertain ..... a positive angle of attack on a fixed fin >
and if we can eliminated the rotational inertia problem in short waves
we could have a new vfp concept >

a vfp > being wider > having a higher bridge deck > and a much deeper fin would do this !
then the fin would just ride through all the short stuff .....

and only the deeper draft would be there > to find a solution >
this being the riding out to lee ward !

when beaching ...... or going over a shoal !

and if used directly from the sea side > because of the transport problem !

for all the others > there would be the hinged vector fin proa
