I am a human ..... no animal > so I like human values > meaning no preditors around me !
I as well dont like humans drinking or smoking ... or wasting the environment ..... resources ....
you may ask your self > what has this to do > with this .... proafile ???
well ..... to test the hinged vector fin proa .... now ..... ready > http://www.galacticdesign.org
I will have to take it to the water ... from my estate >
then I will have to take it off the trailor .... launch it > leaving my car and trailor .... where ?
and I will need to go shopping for .... things ..... where do I leave the boat then ?
going to a marina .... is out of the question > since they insist on paying for a slip
I dont even want > and they insist on having the boat lifted by their crane .....
I dont want > so what ?
I think the only solution will be > to having either some people > humans >
to helping me with this testing .... some where on this planet .....
or I will have to move my whole existence > directly to the water >
where I can do the testing from then .... all by myself !
but > this would take > me years to complete > but what else ... can you think of ?
Phil Bolger had a saying, “The best boats are ones you can carry home or live aboard.”
(Or something like that.)
Do you live where there are no beaches? If not, well, carry the proa in pieces to the beach, put him together, and sail! I can haul 200 pounds behind my bicycle on a trailer. It can be done!
Cheers,
Rick
Phil Bolger had it right. I have spent a good portion of my life living aboard but I can tell you it is getting more problematic all the time. My next boat will be trailerable but still be a comfortable live aboard. If you are going to live aboard marinas are now out of the question. You must find an anchorage that is close enough to the facilities you require and can be reached easily by dingy. This is not that difficult if your boat is of very shallow draft and can be beached or sit on her own bottom . I would suggest that solar power is the best option if you need all the comforts of home and that an electric out board on a dingy that can be used to maneuver the mother ship is the way to go. I think a proa is the ideal platform to begin with if designing a boat that can satisfy this S.O.R. so you are certainly of to a great start. Good luck.
yes .... a proa is perfect for an anchoring live aboard boat !
just think of the lenght > and no 2 or 2 hulls snapping over any swell !
and getting the proa to the beach > is no problem >
but what to do with the car and trailor ?
in southern europe > there are no boat ramps and parking lots
guarded by the police .......
and .... what can I do ?
if there are no stores at the anchorage ?
I will have to go ... and leave the boat alone !!!
and as you should know >
their is a high unemployment rate in southern europe !
one day I came back > and the proa was floating to ward the rocks !
because .... some one had objected to my anchor being at the beach .....
and .... people there are just having one word for any one doing things
such as developing a proa > ” crasy “
these are traditional folks >
and only after a boat type has been around a few 100 years .....
or if the tourist are interested !!!
soooo ..... doing this alone here > is impossible !
unless you pay .......
I am having no idea > what to do ?
I will have to wait > for other peple coming along !
or some locals being realy interested !
no other way about it .....
Ireland is ideal - lots of bays and inlets that are protected and small towns everywhere. Crime is minimal - lots of people leave their outboards and stuff on the boat - and it stays there!
Even beached.
People are friendly and eu - so no problem staying.
But ..... The weather is cold and wet.
Also it either blows too much or too little.
I will have to wait > for other peple coming along !
or some locals being realy interested !
Sounds like you need to make some local boating friends! Perhaps if you showed interest in their boats, they might show interest in yours? All the southern Europeans I’ve met have been like people everywhere—they will look out for your interests if you look out for theirs.
Good luck!

the weather there would be fine for testing !
and the absense of crime .... is right up my alley .....
but ..... I hear the locals there are .... drinking that strange stuff ... a lot ...
out off a bottle or can .... or even sitting around in pubs !!!
I cant stand this ....
that is a diversion no one should play around with !
and all these animals there .....
can they read > can they help me live a human life ???

well ..... rick ..... if they would be taking care of their interests > then they would be saving their world !
and they would be saving all those potential homo sapiens an this planet ... as well !
but they arent ....
so to my mind > they are a problem > not the solution > as all those other 7 billions are !?
and this is not my fault > so I will not change any of my aspirations !
or I would be becoming just one more problem > and there are too many already !

I can agree fully on your post !
I have been living aboard in san diego ... and hawaii > some decades ago
but I have no contacts there any more > and so having no idea >
as to what the conditions are !
what kind of an area do you plan on living aboard ?
where do you think .... there would be people to share my interests ?
this seems to be the main problem ...... in this world of .....

You should never ever expect other people to help you live your life. It is only by living your own life and creating whatever enviroment you desire/need that you can live any kind of life worth living. If you can not love your fellow man despite all the reasons not to, there is only hate, resentment loneliness left for you. This is a harsh and grim world, and things don’t look that bright and promising in the future. We only have each other, and it is love that keeps us going. Love and mutual respect is the one thing that separate us from the evil barbaric psycopaths….
Try searchin for the good in everyone, instead of resenting what is bad. You can concentrate on the problem all you want, and it will only grow. You can choose to see the good in everything and that will grow instead.
The choice is all yours.
Cheers,
Johannes
Nothing is good or bad it just is…
The only solution is acceptance
.....and some good old fashion meditation
TINK
Johannes, that was truly well whritten, and i fully agree!
acceptence of evil > is the problem > not the solution what so ever !
just look at your world .... especially where there is total acceptance of evil >
that is where the most problems are created !
who is creating the climatic collaps ?
who is wasting all the planetary resources ?
who is using all those there legal drugs ?
who is causing all those un civilisation illnesses ?
who is creating all those frustrated kids >
seeing no alternative .... just killing as many as they can ?
we need a humane world >
not the freedom and tolerance to destroy every thing we have !
any body with some analytical capability .... can see this .....
just start thinking for .... your self !
not listening to your ...... mass of insanity ......
As interesting, or even vital, as solutions to Fritz’s and indeed the worlds problems may be, there are far better forums on the internet than this boating forum to pursue them on. I would like this thread closed now. Members are free to PM me if they wish to discuss this further.
