So my well planned plans went awry, the Honda 2 outboard does not fit in the footwell of my cockpit.

Does anyone have good ideas for an outboard bracket or well that can be attached to the akas?

I am thinking two 2x4s lashed to the akas, with a 3/4” plywood “transom” that an outboard can be mounted to.  The transom would have a deep cut out to be able to mount the outboard down low enough.  All parts reinforced with epoxy and glass.  This should put the outboard in a position to be easily used from the cockpit platform.

Here’s a way to get your Honda 2 on the crossbeam.  Don’t forget the anti-torque line.

I will need to lower the outboard mount (transom) to about 8”-12” below the lako.  I have heard of a thing called an outboard sled, which is lowered to put the outboard in the water.

If the bridgedeck clearance is high, you kann use an outbord bracket to raise and lower the outboard. At my boat I need a clamp of aluminium to set the bracket 20 cm deeper, because the platform is 70 cm above the water. With a similar clamp you can fix the bracket on a beam too. During sailing the outbord will be raised, and turned over, and is far away from waves. The pictures show my old 2 hp Yamaha, now I am using a newer 3hp. It works very well.
