Hi all, well getting cold…. time to take care of my epoxy…....
so building a tent, just went ahead with what ever I could get my hands on.
leepod ready to get sheeted, got my masts, so after I make the mast steps, can sheet the hull and flip it over. but first gotta get ready for the cold….... a long winter awaits.
the plan, an insulated tent. two sheets of plastic and 4 kw of electric heaters, hoping for 20 degrees….........
on the next clip, i show my winter plan and where I got to on my build.
otherwise, may the force be with the proa.
  all the best,
    rael.

That is a good building tent/shed you got there!

I really like your proa so far. I hope you get a productive winter. The winter goes so much faster when one is building something, and especially soo when its a boat….

Cheers,
Johannes

thanks johannes, today I tested it, and in an hour I got to 28 degrees, outside was 15…..
two hot air blowers going at full blast 2000watts each. the double plastic really works.
it stayed above the 20ties for 3 hours….. once winter hits, things aint gonna be so easy, I know.
but now there’s hope….......
by the way, in my last clip, said “no fiberglass…...” meant above the water line that is. but from the water line down
I need it, to be able to drag the boat around on beaches and so on…. all seams too will get fiberglassed for strength.
the rest, probably 3 layers of thinned epoxy, then a ton of paint…...........  anyway time will tell.
  all d best.

cheap fiberglass insulation between the sheets of plastic would probably help a lot. Use double-sided carpet tape to seal the plastic sheeting at the edges to hold the insulation in place. Or duct tape….

insulation is d key….. air is good,
but those yellow fiberglass things are better. next time will remember to try with the stuff and compare the two.
as for this time, I want to get stuck into the boat, and when I go below 18 I just turn another heater on…....
so as for the tent, till april probably aint gonna touch it.
but thanks for the idea, bud.
