Still goofing around with lines. Nothing serious here, just doodling. It’s funny how you draw something from one side, think it looks kind of nice, but then draw another direction and realize that won’t work at all. I was drawing a nice tall traditional bow, with a deep sheer line. But looking at that from different directions, with my desired cabin, it really would not be attractive. Too much slab sided cabin above the sheer.

So that lead to going back to a more modern reverse sheer, and nearly blunt bow. And I am starting to like this. It kind of looks like a fast motorboat from another era.

This drawing shows the boat at 32 feet.

At this point I have not really figured anything out about beam between the hulls, nor what the outer hull should be like in terms of volume and length and shape. I am sure the beam could be very much less for a motorboat. But I want some room for the nested dingy, and a small outdoor cockpit area with a floor. I probably should consider putting the dingy on the rear deck, but what a pain to do every time compared to just hauling it up on the tramp.

After meeting with Russell and Michael to think about the power outrigger design I have started drawing a few new ideas. Still nothing very serious yet. Just playing around. Build is probably still two years away so I have time.

The attached drawing is showing the boat at 33’. It will likely be built in plywood. So figuring out how to flair the hull with hard chine panels is the next step. I am currently considering building it like the Scarab Trimarans.  http://www.teamscarab.com.au/32Prototype/Mainhull.html
