Great Pictures of Cimba. Question….
I presume that the picture was taken from the windward side and the reinforced bulkhead shown, represents the Mast support member?

Aloha Toni,
That is correct, you can just see the 2 beam holes in that bulkhead, later the holes were cut in the cockpit side.
The mast bulkhead is attached to the two beam bulkheads, as such make very a stiff box construction.

Hi Sven,

Thanks for the open 40 article.

I’ve always wondered what those wells are in the bows of Pacific Bee were for.

Are they for stowing doused jibs?

Do you always go forward to douse the jib?  Have you tried roller furling?

I’m sure I’m not the only one on this forum that would love to hear your thoughts and stories about shunting in general.
