Hello,
I am new here! I have visited the website a lot but only just got round to registering.
Over the last couple of years I was lucky to have the time and space to teach myself a bit of boatbuilding. I have always found it difficult to follow the herd and have a very over active imagination. So building my own boats suits me down to the ground.
I have started with an outrigger kayak, the build video is on youtube ; http://youtu.be/q1HCmEg0-GI
It performed very well, tracking a nice straight line and fast. I am now on the mark 2 with mast steps and rod holders,
really hope to get it ready before summer leaves again!
The next project in the wings is a Hurricane 500 hull waiting to be turned into an outrigger with craw claw tacking rig.
A little further down the line is a 23 foot outrigger hull I want to make a mould of.
Will keep you posted,
All the best,
Mark
