A few catamarans, a few tacking outriggers, lots of proas; about 600 sketches in total!

This is a treasure. They would make beautiful and inspiring posters. Where are they from?
The artwork looks pretty good on my little screen. Do you think they would blow up well?

Russell
I had no idea where they were from, but after wondering the same myself I now believe they’re from Haddon and Hornell’s “Canoes of Oceania.” It’s a three volume set from the 1930s, now out of print. Apparently they traveled and made many hundreds of sketches as they went? I’ve never seen these books myself but I’m wondering if there’s someone here that has and could confirm if these are Haddon and Hornell sketches?
The linked site has them at 902x665; they start looking grainy after around 9x6 I’m afraid. Perhaps a sketch blown up by hand would do the trick; I like that idea myself.
Best,
Adam
I finally got around to making some artwork for the wall with some of these sketches. I printed them, then traced them with a white marker onto the reverse side of some old picture-frame glass.
