I consider myself a fairly dedicated proanut, am getting ready to build my third or fourth proa depending on how you look at it.

First was ACDC a 14’ $50 effort that morphed into a slightly more competent boat, including a second 14’ hull, hence the question regarding proa numbering.

Followed by P52 that was recently sold to Kevin ONeal, who now has the rare distinction of owning two proas concurrently.

Am currently getting ready to build another 14’ trial horse “Bionic Broomstick” to try out some rig ideas before building Nomad.

Welcome to the forums, Skip! I read you article about Nomad - a really cool design IMHO. I look forward to hearing about your trials.

Nomad will be a while coming, need to build and trial out the Bionic Broomstick first to settle questions about rig before building Nomad, which will be built out of real plywood this time.

Nomad is my take on an easily trailered and launched boat that I with or without a companion can spend a week or so fairly comfortably most anywhere including some fairly shallow water which is fairly common in my neck of the woods. Not to be the fastest, but comfortable and quick has much to recommend it.

cheers,
