You all have probably seen these. I remember seeing them in Woodenboat.
But they bear mentioning in this forum as they are butt steered. Check this video—to tack, they walk to the front, turn through the wind, walk back and fall off.
The hull form even looks like the front half to two thirds of a butt steering proa.
Some schematic Patin renderingsā¦
Here’s the excellent article I took them from

I can go one better and find you dimensions and even the table of offsets. The website appears to be offline currently, although I have got a copy on my drive. The stern shape of the patin was the inspiration for my boat’s bow/stern. But without the rockered bow you need to sit ridiculously far back. I was hoping the submerged stern would aid in windward ability.

This link seems to be working. In Spanish, but all there!

Very interesting, thanks for pointing it out Chris. A cat version of Proud Mary might be possible then… 😊
But how do they point!?!?

They seam to point ok on the you tube video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7owV5v6gjUQ I love these simple craft
I think they work because of their relatively large length 18.4ft, long overhanging bow and very fine stern sections. You got to love a boat without a brake (rudder)
