Wow, Sven- the proa is lovely!  You have been hard at work!

Could you share some details about the new wishbone rig?  Will there still be roller-furling jibs/genoas?

If made in plywood, will it still be able to be disassembled in a 40ft container?

I aslo was wondering about the gigantic head area- could it be made smaller in order to to increase the size of the galley?
My wife and I will spend (I hope) more time cooking together than flushing together!

Cheers,
Mitchell Hay

Thanks Mitchell,
Of all the work I do ,messing around with pacific proas gives me a lot of positive energy.

Wishbone boom, its generally the common setup as in windsurf sails. I am specifically fiddling around with that to be able to control the fathead main twist-off. ( a vang or mainsheet track are not feasible on our setup, as it interferes with the cockpit and coachroof )( besides I try to stay away from expensive yachtie equipment.)

The danger of the wishbone boom on pacific proa’s it is that you cannot de-power quick enough,
One solution could be to have an heel angle pneumatic outhaul quick release system ,like the big french tri’s.
Call it work in progress…....

The 45ft model is the largest I managed to put in a 45ft container.  Bigger I didn’t bother , its so quick that , given the right conditions, S- England to Carib can be reach easily in under 14 days.

interior ; Flushing area, could be made smaller, but I like a hot shower, its a well though out cruising interior, with plenty of storage ,  also great for (charter) guests.

Galley arrangement; the galley is splitup in two , a large cooking counter, and on the other side a large double deep sink ,  the long table can also be used for food prep. , under the floor a freezer cooler gives enough storage for charter purpose.

Cheers Sven
