See my dog leg mast,  now that is simple.
Mark

I like Mark’s dog leg mast in that it keeps the weight low down. In the past I have drawn a similar rig but with a cat rig. However the dog leg with a lug rig will be lower stress.

With a dog leg lug rig by my reckoning I don’t think the the sail presents a clean sail on both shunts like the lug rig with adjustable CE.

The lug rig with adjustable CE allows the unstayed mast to be buried in the hull and I feel a lower stressed and simpler structure at the cost of more weight and windage aloft.

You could also use two unstayed masts with a ketch junk rig, and reef the aft sail to move CE forward.

That’s the plan for TP03, but no reefing the leeboard moves fore and aft. On a bigger boat reefing junk rigs might be good. Shoulder is getting a lot better hope to get TP03 floating in the next 6 weeks.
